Can ‘than’ be used as ‘then’?

Hi guys, non english native speaker here.

Im very curious about something I’ve been watching for years, i hope some of you guys can answer.

As far as i know, ‘then’ and ‘than’ are different words, but i regularly see them used inverted. Am i missing something? Can you used than as then? Or is it a slang like when rappers use ‘is’ instead of ‘are’ example from J Cole’s middle child song: “my sneakers is dirty” or is it that foreign speakers commit a mistake when using the and that is what i see? Im also curious about what i said before, the exchange between ‘is’ and ‘are’.
