Language Learning - what to do, and what not to do.

Hi there,

Back story: a 23Y (M) Chinese born in a European country. I've spent my life away from my mother country and am adopted. I'm wanting to retrace my steps and learn Mandarin. I've attempted in the past going to language classes but always have failed. I feel I'm getting to a stage in my life where language learning is too difficult, but I don't want to pull the plug.

What are your recommendations as to what I should do to better improve my learning circumstances?
