Can a pocket talk help me learn?

If I buy a pocket talk and use it constantly in my daily life to translate everything into German, will it help my immersion?

I am sure it is no replacement for lessons, but I am having trouble finding sources to immerse me. Book learning is hard for me and lessons are expensive. Thank you.
