How do I get better at explaining things to people in my second language ?

I recently got my first real bilingual job, and honestly I don't understand how I got hired.

If you've been in a similar situation, what strategies did you use to improve???

The job is mostly just regurgitating information verbatim, so I just need to do that, but I think I get confused somehow and end up speaking worse than usual even if I can understand and manage to actually answer them. I'm hoping I don't get fired while I get familiar with everything
