Is anyone using song translations as a mean to learn?

So I remember when I was little I learned to speak english singing along lyrics videos with their translations
The downside is I learned a lot of slang and not age appropriate vocab but thats another story

The point is I decided to try it out with my new (TL) 20 years later and the thing I can say so far is that its a fun way to learn

Has anyone tried it and got good results? Is this even science backed
