Who else learns languages by Writing Fanfic (you should start!)

I just got good enough at Mandarin (5th language, speak English, Spanish, German, and Hebrew. My next project will be Cantonese) to be able to actually write a story in it without relying on a dictionary or translator, and WOW this has really rapidly increased my ability to write, read, speak, everything! You wouldn't believe how helpful this is!

I exclusively write slash fics of Sam and Dean Winchester from Supernatural, which is extra great cuz I can just call them 哥哥 and 弟弟, and never have to use latin Characters at all during the fics!

Curious if anyone does this, or if not, encouraging you to start!
