interpreting words with even more words?

i have this issue that i never had before started developing on it's own and i like when i hear a word that sounds different like let's say "smart" or "clever" or any other words. in this example i think of the word "intelligent" is like i try to find easier words to explain more articulated words which i do know the meaning of it's not like I'm unsure but it slows me down a lot mentally and i can't think of normal things the only thing i think of mostly all day it's just interpreting words and words. i can't really think of anything else. i know normal people they don't interpret language but get it by just hearing it's like a feeling i used to be that way. i see and hear people answering something not even a split second after the other person said it but i go trough a whole process to then get back to the present. how can i stop this? do i just resist it? empty my mind? like how? what goes trough your head when you're actively listening to something?
