I'm about a week into learning a new language and obviously translating is inevitable, but when I asked chatgpt it said that you should never translate if you can because then you will learn TL as just a code for your language. But on reddit, some people said that with enough input translating eventually goes away on it's own. I haven't gotten a clear answer from anyone. Is translating fine or should I try to avoid it?
