I know this has probably been asked a million times. Is there any answer as to how many languages a person can learn and be able to retain them 100% for their lifetime?
A friend of mine says you shouldn't learn more than 3 non-native languages. Basically, at 4 you should stop: your native + 3 others. How much water does his statement hold? I want to ask people here who know a lot of languages, just a fun discussion that I can read while drinking some coffee on a beautiful morning in New Zealand.
