Let me start by saying I am normally opposed to AI, would never use it for anything that I can research myself, I judge people using it to do homework or generate essays for them. While I feel strongly about using AI to offload creative work, I have to admit it's a pretty useful language learning tool.
I learn best through immersion, but I don't have a good way to practice in the way that works for me. I wish I could speak more Spanish for my job because people will often ask for help and I don't speak their language. I took 2 college courses worth of Spanish but it was mostly theory and while I know the base concepts it didn't help me actually speak it.
So I've been roleplaying with ChatGPT... asking it to act like a customer and also explain any mistakes in my replies. It's so much more efficient than studying and having to look up everything manually. It genuinely helps me but I fear I'm being unethical. Alternative suggestions are very welcome.
