Struggling with different accents at work—any tips?

Hi all,

I’m a Chinese English learner. TOEFL training got me used to “pure” accents, but at work in the U.S., people speak with all kinds of accents, and I often struggle to understand them. I am nervous to ask them to slot dowm because it is often in bigger meeting settings.

I’ve tried a live translation app my friend developed (Hope Translator), and it helps a bit in real time.

Any tips, exercises, or apps that helped you get better at understanding different accents?
