How do you help kids with speaking a second language?

I have a 7-year-old child. I'm a native French speaker, but I speak English at home to practice mine. Almost everything at home is in English.

My child understands most of my English and can read it (more or less) but doesn’t speak it—likely due to a lack of confidence or practice. He knows the words, but can't place them for a conversation

I don’t want to force him to speak English, but I’m unsure how he’ll improve if he never speaks.

Any ideas or games that could help him? I know that once he gets used to it, speaking English will become second nature, just like it did for me.
