First time reading a book in my Third language and I really need some tips for improvement :)

So, i’ve decided to re-read one of my favorite books ever, “the perks of being a wallflower”, but in german this time. i’m on a A2 level and it’s quite hard sometimes so i’ve been using translators

do you guys have any tips so i can reduce the usage of translator overtime? i def can’t get through this book without it, but im planning on using less of it on the next one. i was hoping that any of you might have done the same and perhaps share the experience with me.
