Is mostly listening to a ton of clear content a good way to make it easier to understand unclear speech?
TL is Spanish. I can understand clear content 99% of the time even if it's really fast but once it gets to be more unclear I understand less and less or need them to slow down so I can parse what is being said. I know that what I need to improve most is my understanding of unclear Spanish but I'm not sure if listening to clear content would help with that.
I ask because it's more fun to listen to clear content because I understand more and also because I work 4 hours a day and I'm allowed to listen to podcasts and YouTube videos during that time but it's hard for me to understand unclear speech while I'm doing that because I can't look at the subtitles and can't concentrate as much as usual so I only listen to things that are clear.
My thinking is I'll hear the expressions and words over and over again so if someone says something unclearly it will be easier to fill in the words I didn't understand but at the same time I'm not practicing what I need to practice so I'm not sure if it will actually work.
