Is it hard to become an interpreter?

Hey everyone! I’m a college student looking for a part-time job and I’ve recently come across a job opening for a language interpreter. I’m completely fluent in 3 languages (Ukrainian, Russian, and English)— that is I can speak, write, read, and whatever else that might entail. My question is: how hard would it be to get a job as an interpreter? I did some web search and saw that I’d probably end up needing a couple of certificates or so. I am a pretty dedicated learner, so I would probably be able to tackle those if needed (unless they are extremely hard, and if anyone has any input when it comes to their difficulty, please let me know). But is the job worth going through all of these steps? The pay is quite good and I would also be able to work remotely, but I don’t think I’d want to have a career in interpreting—this would just be a job to help me get through college.

I would be extremely thankful if anyone could share some advice or their experience of become an interpreter!

Hope all of you have an amazing day!
