Hey guys,
my Czech level used to be somewhere between B1 and B2 right at the end of my voluntary service there a couple years ago. Now I have the opportunity to go back again and study there for five months and my goal is to have a solid grasp (B2/C1) of the language when I'm doing a three week internship at the end of my stay.
Today I did a practice test (A2) together with a Czech friend of mine who read out the listening tasks to me and graded my writing and speaking. I got 85% which I would consider okay, since only 60% is needed for passing. The thing is: I'm not actively studying right now but rather relying on talking to my friend from time to time and following Czech instagram accounts. To get the most out of my months in CZ, I signed up for a part-time language course beforehand, which is six weeks and my goal would be to be at a B1/B2 level when I leave for CZ in February next year.
What would you guys suggest I do to prepare myself? Unfortunately all my uni courses will be in English and I won't be as immersed in the language as I was during my voluntary service, although I will definitely try. I'm mostly looking for smaller things I can do on a daily basis since I am doing research full-time and working two part-time jobs at the moment.
