So I have been reflecting on my past experiences with learning languages and found a particular problem I am unable to overcome. I am particularly good at math and programming, so when it comes to learning grammar and vocabulary, I can usually construct whatever thought I want to say by formulating the sentences based on the grammar rules I know, kind of like how you would solve a math problem. However, when it comes to listening and understanding what is being said, I just can't.
Can anyone relate? For those who get what I am getting at, what advice would you give for my situation?
