Comprehensive Input in VR

A group of us built a free VR language learning app inspired by the Natural Method, input theory, total physical response, etc. It currently has 23 languages. You’re in a house, and you hear the name of everything you grab in your target language. Then you watch a teacher perform and narrate an action in your target language (“I put the spoon in the cup.”), before she gives you tasks, (“Put the fork in the cup.”) The app is entirely in the target language you are trying to learn. There are no multiple choice or gap fill exercises. It simulates the kinds of language learning experiences people have as a foreign exchange student or child in a completely immersive foreign language environment. It’s called “Language Lab VR”, and it will always be free to download. It’s pretty early in the development, but we work on it full-time and update it with new lessons regularly. It’s only available on Oculus Quest right now, but if you don’t have a quest, check out the trailer and let us know what you think of the idea. We are trying to improve it, so we are looking for feedback from you fellow language learners!
