Was a certain language (to you) much simpler than others for no real explained reason?

Did a language come easier to you for some odd reason? I've been studying Spanish for 3 YEARS, but the time I tried german a few years ago it was super easy in comparison to my horrible memorization of Spanish. ;-;

Is this an English stole from the European language situation? Or simply, a case of my brain wants to speak german and nothing else.
