FLTR is a desktop program where you upload your own texts in your target language, and by selecting a word you can look it up and input its translation, so the next time you come across that word in a text you can see its meaning by hovering your mouse. It's very similar to Steve Kaufmann's LingQ, but it's a lot more manual, and it's free. I really really recommend it for learning vocab through context.
As far as I'm aware though, it's only available to download to a PC. Does anyone know of any mobile equivalents that mirror this style of learning? I would use LingQ, but the price is way too steep for me at the moment.
