I was watching a Russian YouTuber talk about how he learned English, and one thing he mentioned was how under-appreciated he felt knowing English by other people. After hearing that, I found that to be quite true. Honestly, when I hear or read that someone knows English as a second language, I'm not that impressed. However, if an English native were to say to me that they speak a second language or more, I would find that interesting.
