What do you find difficult about learning English?

Hello everyone,

Disclamer: this question I want to aim it more towards people who are naive speakers of any romance language (French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Catalan) however, if your native language is more grammatically complexed than English, than you are welcomed as well.

I really wondered why many people especially natives of romance languages find English hard. I write because grammatically speaking French, Italian and Portugese are way more harder than English especially with the multiple tenses, exceptions, and whatnot that english doesn't have. For example, Portugese they split the verb to be into two different verbs which that does not exist in English. Or how French uses the subjonctif and there are complete endings for many verbs and exceptions when to use it and when not, whereas in English it's not that complexed. (conjugation wise) or how in French there two different words just to say day and it depends when to use it and I can go on and on about prepositions in many romance languages.

I don't see or understand why romance natives find English very hard to learn when there own language is quite hard and even many native speakers mess up frequently in their own language that is grammatically more complexed than English.

Can you please give me some insight on why you find it hard please? I would really like to know the struggles non English natives have trying to learn English. it will help me better understand other people as well as their journey in language learning.

Thank you to everyone in advance.
