A friend told me about a book but forgot the title

He said it was originally made for eastern Europeans to learn English when they came to America and has been in print a long time and now there is a version of the book that teaches English speakers Yiddish.

I just need the title of the book if anyone has any clue what I'm talking about I'll be greatful to have any extra info on this book.
