Do you feel that when you study a 3rd language you kind of forget the 2nd one? I'm desperate.

I speak Portuguese as my native language and I'm also fluent in English. I decided start learning french, but I feel like when I start the immersion in french I "unlearn" English. I feel less capable to speak English with people or even write it. Does it happen / happened to you? How to deal with it?
