Why does it seem like there are few young women learning foreign languages as a hobby on apps?

I installed the app Amikumu for Esperanto and all the language learners within 300 km of me are male. Why does it appear that learning less commonly used foreign languages doesn't attract as many young women?

There are lots of international students learning English on my city, but not as many English speakers actively learning Esperanto
