So, I can speak my L2 fluently, but my grammar is a bit choppy and my active vocabulary is low, so I have trouble expressing myself regarding complex topics. I've read two 250-page novels in my L2, and my girlfriend doesn't speak my native language, so we always communicate in her language. I can watch Youtube videos with some difficulty, though my reading/writing skills are more refined than my listening/speaking skills. Nevertheless, I always feel like I'm a beginner and like my proficiency isn't worth jack, so I'm always a bit nervous talking to new people in my L2.
Does anybody else suffer from this mindset? Any tips on how I can stop feeling like I'm just starting out?
