Does anyone know the best source to learn basic Tibetan language ?

I live in India near the place where Dalai Lama's Tibetan Government in -exile is situated. So, there are many Tibetan folks around. I'm looking for a way to learn just the basics. I've heard it's quite hard and even less popular:-(
