I can kind of roll my R's?

So here's the deal--I'm trying to start learning Russian, but for this you need a really solid trilled R.

Maybe a year ago I learned how to do a trill at all--it took four months of practice before I could get it rolling *badumtsss* but even still I can't start it without kicking it off with a really hard T or D, sometimes I can get it with an aggressive H. Even if I get close to dropping the initial consonant, it still sounds like there's something kickstarting it. It's not that smooth Russki trill I'm aiming for.

Does anyone have any tips on how to drop that consonant?
