I guess I always thought they were roughly the same language, but I noticed that they are separated on italki. Do we have any Gaelic speakers who can shed light on Scottish Gaelic vs Irish Gaelic? Is it a dialect difference or an entirely different language?
I ask because my entire family line comes from the UK and Ireland (about an equal majority of it from Scotland and Ireland, with smaller portions from Wales and England), and Gaelic has always been on my list of languages to learn.
