What are some stereotypes you can think of about the kinds of people who learn different languages (or students that chose that language to study in high school)? Do you think they're accurate?
I'm posting this because I think it's interesting, but please be careful not to take this too seriously or be a jerk about it. Please be respectful and keep the community's rules in mind when posting.
To give some examples for illustration:

English: Anyone born in a non-Anglophone country

Spanish: Practical and boring

French: Slightly pretentious, see themselves as "cultured"

German: In high school, first-person shooter fans; in language-learning world, only concerned with the market value of their language learning

Hebrew: Very religious Christian

Japanese: Weeb, obsessed with anime
I think most are untrue (except English), though it's hardest for me to repress the French one in my mind because of a combination of confirmation bias and personal anecdotes. The Japanese one seems the most absurd to me, since one really doesn't have to be a weeb to admire the cultural output of Japan.
