I learned English when I was a kid watching the Simpsons. I only watch movies and TV in English for the last 20 years but as soon as I turn off the subtitles I can't understand a word. I'm ok following a conversation. Maybe it's the different prononciations or accents. I'd like to be able to turn off the subtitles and still be able to follow the story.
