I'm currently working on a novel and one of the fictional languages in my story will be heavily inspired by Mandarin.
Of course I can't create a whole new script with thousands of characters like real-life Mandarin so I'll have to simply it.
But is it even feasable? I mean can Mandarin, which is a tonal language, be transliterated into a script functionning like Hangeul?
