My philosophy with EduGaming is that the gaming element should be well-balanced with the learning element, so I designed Kanji Drop around Japanese characters, known as kanji, to make the learning more integrated into traditional gameplay. There are over 2000 for common use, so learning them can be intimidating -- but games can change that! I plan on making more games that feel like traditional games but let you learn something too! It's designed for all skill levels to make kanji less intimidating for new learners as well as good practice for advanced learners. It can be a great supplement to your learning with other tools.

A bit about the game: kanji, or parts of kanji, fall and they merge with their neighbors to make more complex kanji and fill up your power meter. Or, they combine to make a word and blow up their neighbors. Fill up the meter and a big chunk blow up! You got to keep them from reaching the top!

You earn powerups along the way to help you out! The powerups are related to the meaning of the kanji, e.g., the 下 (down) powerup moves down, destroying all blocks beneath it. You'll hear what the Kanji and words mean and can look them up in an easy-to-use built-in dictionary. You can also limit them to ones in textbooks (Genki, Tobira, Nakama -- will add more on request) and the JLPT exam!

It's designed for all skill levels, from beginners to experts. Thanks for the support!

P.S. Pro-tip - try the "Next" powerup to see the next 3 kanji coming! Adds a whole new spin on gameplay where you can strategize your next moves.
