I understand my parents language although I can't speak their language very well. How to train it up?

My parents speak spanish pretty much all the time although when I try to communicate in spanish I get lost for words. I haven't tried writing in some time although I guess it's pretty bad too. What are some methods/guides/anything I can do to become a better speaker when I already understand it near perfectly?
