Does anyone feel they don't have much of a chance to use their language?

I love Russian yet I don't know a single Russian person. I've also never visited there. I guess I am getting beyond the stage of a beginner. The situations where I use the language is very limited, such as a friend will ask me to translate a few lines, and that's the limit to my real world use of Russian. I wish I could travel more or enroll in a course I could afford :(
