If anyone is looking for intermediate or advanced reading materials in Spanish, I would recommend Insight Crime (https://es.insightcrime.org). First, I think they do a wonderful job at investigating crime and corruption in Latin America. Second, most, if not all, their articles are in English and Spanish. So if you are stuck, you can go to their english site (https://www.insightcrime.org) and look for the English article. I think most authors are bilingual, so I wouldn't be surprised the authors themselves wrote the translation. Third, its free!
