Does learning speed scale with how many languages you are fluent in?

I'm fluent in French, Arabic, and English. Currently learning Spanish, and I noticed a lot of similarities between spanish and all three of those languages. But my question is more oriented towards the brain's learning speed. I've read some articles about how people speaking multiple languages often have more functional/active brains. So, biologically speaking, does this help with learning a new language?
