I thought about using colored index flash cards to study German noun gender. For example, all masculine nouns would be on red cards, feminine on blue, neuter on yellow or whatever.
Of course, you would have to do several repetitions because of course the color would give away the answer, but my thought was that by reviewing a lot, your brain would remember the color and thus the gender. What gender is Gabel (fork). I remember it was on a blue card, so it's feminine, die Gabel....
