Aspect in Slavic languages?

Hi all,

I'm finishing up my first year in linguistics taking Polish as a side module. My exam is coming up in a couple weeks, and I just can't get my head around grammatical aspect (i.e., the difference between stać and stawać, or słuchać and posłuchać), nor can I find any good resources online. Can anyone suggest anything or give me a decent explanation?
