Started my 4th language after a few years of no learning ... it's suddenly much easier

I am native in Hebrew, highly proficient in English (almost two decades since I started learning it in school). I learned Standard Arabic for 3 years in high school and Levantine Arabic for a few years after that. English took me almost a decade to have any kind of work-level proficiency - or being able to watch shows with no subtitles. In Arabic despite having (at some point) close to B1 in vocabulary and speaking-ability - I could never follow a real speaker in real speed and accent. I stopped with Arabic when I realized I'm moving to the US.

After a few years of no learning (though using English daily obviously) I decided to try Spanish (TL). And by... I'm SHOCKED at how quickly I progress! I barely have a month or two and I can already recognize words and even full phrases on TV, express very simple ideas, understand basic grammar etc.

I'm also clearly more efficient in my method of study (I didn't know about Anki back then, and I didn't get nearly enough comprehensible input in Arabic)

Anyone else had a similar experience? I'm not sure if it's because I'm older and my mind is more mature, if the methods are better, if it's just that Spanish is much easier, more similar to English than Arabic is to Hebrew or maybe I just became good at languages.

Also I wonder if I'll keep progressing that quickly or does it only feel fast at the beginning.
