Why not have your AI, when it’s talking to you, throw in words in another language you don’t know, so you slowly pick it up?
Here’s how I’d do it. Take the most common words, say the top 100. Replace the whole word every single time, not just sometimes. So “is” becomes “shì” from then on, always. I’d have it spelled out phonetically (pinyin) instead of characters, because the characters are a whole different thing.
You don’t repeat anything back. You just hear it and read it, and you pick it up from context.
Start slow with two words. Then four, five, six, ten, fifteen, whatever you’re comfortable with. If it’s going too fast, dial it back. I’d lock in a standard progression that starts slow, and you adjust the speed as you need.(TL)
The best part is it’s not something you sit down and do. It’s just background. It’s part of your everyday life.
I don’t even know any Mandarin, so I haven’t tested it. I also can’t monetize it, because it’s just a set of prompts. Anybody could do it. So I’m putting it out here. I think people will build way better versions than I could.
example — like, “so instead of ‘this is really interesting,’ your aisay ‘zhè shì really interesting’”
