Advice for a self-study schedule to add a 2nd target language (TL)

Hello everyone!

I'm a native English speaker and in March I began taking weekly in-person beginner Mandarin classes with the hopes of traveling to Asia in 2028. I really enjoy learning the language but have been struggling with how to organize my self-study at home.

The thing is, I was recently invited to stay in Italy for a week in the fall of 2027. I'm excited since the only place I have seen in Italy is 2 days in Rome! I would definitely like to start learning Italian as well at some point, but I'm not sure when to start or how to add in Italian without losing the Mandarin I've already learned.

I would love some suggestions for how to organize my self-study at home--for Mandarin of course but also how to bring in the Italian lessons as well. I have just been spending time on the apps and online courses for about an hour each night, but I wanted to have more structure--I keep seeing people say they do things like one day for writing, one day for reading, one day for speaking, one day for grammar, one day for watching native content...I'm just not sure of the time frames or how to space it out.

Here are the main materials I am using for Mandarin and finding useful, I know many of them are available for multiple languages:

-Pimsleur (I have a lifetime subscription so it will be easy to add the Italian course)

-Busuu free courses

-Drops

-HelloChinese

-YoyoChinese

-Duolingo

-Memrise

-Integrated Chinese 1

-Basic Spoken Chinese

-Basic Written Chinese

-I also ordered the book Complete Italian (Teach Yourself series), it should arrive next week.

If it matters, I am also fluent in American Sign Language and reached about A2 in French through classes in high school and university, so I do have some background in learning a Romance language.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks so much! :)

TLDR: I need help modifying my current study schedule for learning Mandarin and advice on how to eventually add Italian as well.
