I have a basic foundation. I can get through some things. But actually sitting in the language every day, knowing what to focus on and how to actually learn it, is a lot. That’s the part I keep failing at on my own.
So for anyone who has worked with a tutor:
What made the good ones good?
Was it their method, or was it something about how they showed up?
Did having someone waiting for you actually build the habit, or did you still have to drag yourself there?
What would you look for if you were starting over?
And what made you stop going, if you did?
I don’t want to pay someone to just chat with me for an hour a week. I want to actually get somewhere with this.
