[Research] Language learners: looking for your experiences with motivation & autonomy (Master's project)

Hi everyone! I'm a graduate student working on a Master's degree in English Language Teaching, and I'm currently working on a research project about motivation and autonomy in second language learning.

I'm looking to hear from language learners (any language, any level) about specific moments from your learning journey. If you're willing to share, please answer the following questions:

  1. How did you feel the first time you had to speak the new language (TL) in front of others?
  2. Do you remember a time when you sought out practicing the language on your own, without a teacher asking you to (shows, music, apps, talking to someone)?
  3. How did you react when someone corrected a mistake you made while speaking or writing?
  4. Was there ever a moment when you compared yourself to another student or native speaker, and did this affect how you felt about your learning?
  5. Do you remember a moment when you felt like you truly achieved something in the language (understanding a movie without subtitles, having a full conversation, passing an exam)?
