Many of us encounter media in our TL long before we start learning it. Music, subtitled TV, etc. It can be a huge motivator, and even cause us to take interest in languages we weren't previously considering.
Has media ever caused you to lose interest in a language you were excited to learn? Maybe it didn't have a robust ecosystem for certain media (e.g. very few video games), maybe there was a genre mismatch (e.g. no fantasy novels to read), maybe you found the media more appealing when you didn't understand it.
If has this happened to you, did you manage to recover your interest?
