Hi! So, like the title says, I want some input on a language learning program for my mother. Her birthday is in two days and I would really like to get her a subscription to a program or buy her a package or something of that sort to help her learn English. For some context, my mother's native tongue is (Egyptian) Arabic and she knows a few words in English but has a hard time figuring out how to put a sentence together (mainly when it comes to prepositions). I wouldn't say her vocabulary is particularly strong either. She has picked up a few words here and there over the years and she can sometimes figure out what is being said in English but either has trouble responding or understanding the whole context of what was said. She's been wanting to learn for a while and I answer any questions she asks towards that end but unfortunately, my siblings and I just don't have the same schedule as her (which is also always changing) so it's always been hard to set up anything proper to help her learn. She has a nimble mind, she's a very hard-worker, and she's insanely motivated so I think getting help from a professional tutor would be really beneficial and effective for her! If you have any suggestions just let me know! (TL)
The only things are:
- I would like it to be an audiovisual lesson where she's actually speaking to a tutor (I would let her borrow my laptop whenever she wanted so she could sign on to this)
- I would like it if it was something a little flexible as her work and other family obligations always have her changing her schedule
- I would like for there to be an option for me to sign her up for at least a year's worth of lessons (subscription preferred as I know some courses can get very expensive)
