Which style of animated material do you prefer for learning?

I’m thinking about creating some free cartoon or story videos for learning languages that are lacking in resources. I’m trying to figure out which style I want to use, targeting levels A2-B2. I’m tempted to just choose the style of the most successful channels, but it’s a huge endeavor, so I’d feel better discussing it first. After all, "most successful" doesn't necessarily correspond to most effective. Here are what I consider to be the most common types:

1) Story, meaning voice actors read a story while the video displays a series of pictures. These are often more narration than dialog, so may be easy enough to follow without looking at the video. Audio sometimes includes some L1. They often have beautiful, 3D, AI generated pictures. Subtitles are usually L1 + L2, just L2, or no subs at all:

2) Cartoons, meaning animated characters talk and move around in them. The audio is pretty much all dialog, and watchers often need to see the video to understand it fully. The audio is usually 100% L2. Subtitles are usually L1 + L2, just L2, or no subs at all. Let me break these down into two types:

2a) Simple Cartoon - Very few characters move around and talk about things in very few scenes:

2b) Complex Cartoon - An actual drama takes place with several characters in several scenes having conversations (the Italian in this channel has a reputation for being poor, but I just wanted to show what’s possible):

Although I like all of these, I prefer complex cartoons because they really engage me. Unfortunately, they are pretty rare, and quite expensive and time consuming to produce.

Stories are great, but I’m not absolutely sold on the idea that adding a video makes them more engaging/memorable/enjoyable to the point where it's really worth it. I feel audio plus text may be enough.

Simple Cartoons maybe a good compromise because they are much easier to make than complex ones, and the video has an important roll, which makes it feel like it’s worth the effort to create.

If you use animated YouTube videos for language learning, which style do you prefer, and why?
