Learning two languages at once (is it realistically possible without burning out)?

Hello all!

I just finished A1 in German from a language learning institute and will soon be starting A2. The reason I enrolled for learning German was mostly for hobby purpose. I do enjoy learning German and plan to continue till B1 at least, however I also am somewhat interested in learning another language; Japanese(...yeah no I'm not Italian incase anyone is curious).

Now jokes aside, my main reason for being interested in Japanese is a mix of cultural fascination and career prospect. As an aspiring 2d animator, Japan has more to offer career wise than Germany (PS; I'm aware of the dark side of anime industry). Hence I want to have at least a rudimentary knowledge of Japanese so I can somewhat network/connect with Japanese animators on social media.

I also don't plan to straight away jump into learning both the languages at once but rather take my time. For now German is my priority as I've paid money to learn in the institute, but should I slowly start self studying Japanese on the side and increase the level gradually after few months?

I would love some thoughts and info on whether this is doable?
