Why native speakers pronounce ‘s’ as ‘sh’ in words with ‘str’ cluster?

For example- strong is pronounced as ‘shtrong’, strategy is pronounced as ‘shtrategy’ with sh sound, straight is pronounced as ‘shtraight’ again with sh sound.

I can’t find any explanation for this online, so I’m curious if anyone can explain me the reason for this.
