Relearning native language

So bit of an odd question I know but I’m getting really frustrated and thought I’d ask. I left my home country as a teen and moved to an English speaking country (with English being a second mother tongue). I’m now in my 20’s and have decided to move back yet with only brief conversations over more than half a decade in my first language I feel a bit dumb?

I can have a perfectly normal fluent conversation yet my language at times seems childish or not fully thought out and I’m having a real difficultly expressing myself and my ideas quickly. I often have to stop to “look” for the appropriate “smart” word or instead use simpler less applicable words.

Unsurprisingly reading has become a bit tedious to, at first glance some words seem unfamiliar and in general I feel slower compared to when I read something in English.

I was wonder if anyone’s dealt with this before and if anyone knows the best ways to combat this? (Besides reading more which I’m powering through)
